“Could life just be a little easier?”
“Why does it have to be so hard?”
These are the questions I find myself whispering to God. There are many things that I am thankful for, but man, sometimes, actually, most of the time, life just seems really hard.
I don’t think I am unique in this. I am quite sure many of you have asked those same questions. If not directly to God, perhaps you have spoken them to yourself. There are so many voices and choices right now. It seems everyone wants to tell me their opinions and all I want to do is live the best life I can.
How can we remain centered in God’s will when the drama swirls around us?
It is not as hard as I sometimes make it. I must remember who I belong to and why I am here.
I am a child of God.
Psalm 139:13-14 (NIV)“For you created my inmost being, you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”
God is always with us.
Psalm 139:7-12 (NIV) “Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,” even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you.”
Even when I want to give up and hide, God is with me. He has a purpose for me. Recognizing that God is with me changes everything. I no longer feel the need to be pulled by the world. Instead, I walk in the grace of God, day by day. I walk my road. I keep my eyes on God’s plan rather than looking around me at all the pain and drama. I am able to see His glory.
I hope that you will be able to do the same. If things seem like they are too much, life is too hard. Know that God loves you so much. You are valuable to this world.
Father God, I pray that today, we will be reminded of your love. Help us to see your plan and trust your wisdom. Wrap us in your loving arms. Help us feel your presence. Thank you for your Word. Thank you for your faithfulness. Thank you, God, for making a way for us. Amen
